Frequently asked questions
What does “encrypted” mean here?
The note is encrypted on your device with the family key before it leaves. The servers only hold unreadable text.
Can I attach a file to a note?
Files live in Documents, encrypted the same way; you can link them from the note.
If I change phone, do the notes survive?
Yes: the family key is recovered when you sign in, and the notes become readable again.
